My name is Rick Vinson. After a 25 year career as an Entertainer I started Dugway Limousine Service in 2000 after working as a chauffeuer for several other companies. I found that there are several similarities between being a Driver and an Entertainer! As a chauffeuer I listened to my customers comments and complaints and began to realize that there was a better way of doing business. Customers want to be treated the same way I want to be treated when I am purchasing goods or services, with respect and honesty.
As a result, we do business a little differently. We look at the business from the customer's point of view.
For instance, when you are quoted a rate it includes everything except gratuity. We do not add any taxes, fees, surcharges (not even a fuel surcharge) or any other charges. We believe that all of those expenses are part of the cost of doing business and the rates should be sufficient to cover them. In my previous experience customers often complained that their bill was often much higher than the quoted rate, and this was the reason. Surprisingly, our rates are LOWER than almost all of our competitors! Although a gratuity is normally expected, it is at the customer's discretion. It is not added automatically (except for Proms and Weddings). After all, if it is added automatically it's just another fee. I have found that if the service is good, the gratuity is never an issue.
We also have a "common sense" policy when quoting rates. If your needs do not fall within our pricing guidelines we will work with you to find a rate that is fair and reasonable.
We do not claim to be infallible. We are only human just like everybody else. If we make a mistake we will do all we can to make it right!
When we hire drivers, we only hire people who are genuinely nice and caring. You can teach someone to be a chauffeuer, but you can't teach someone to be a nice person!
RATES
The basic Limousine charter rate is $65/hr with a 3 hour minimum. $55/hr for the Sedan. This is applicable to everything except Weddings, Proms, and Airport Transfers. Gratuity not included.
Weddings and Proms are $75/hr with a 3 hour minimum and this rate includes gratuity. Proms require a $100 non-refundable deposit. (deposit is refundable only if the Prom is re-booked)
Wine tour rates are $240 for the first 4 hours and $50/hr thereafter. You have your choice of Sedan or Limousine for the same rate.
We also do Airport Transfers. We can pick you up anywhere in the greater Bay Area and transport you to or from any of the Bay Area Airports. We service San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, and Santa Rosa airports. San Jose airport is not normally serviced, however exceptions can sometimes be made. Please call for details. Sedan rates vary according to pickup location and destination and range from $105 (Vallejo to SFO) to $200 (Calistoga to SFO) Limousine rates are generally about $30 more. Please call for your specific rate.
